SAFETY TRAINING PROGRAM FOR POWER UTILITIES

SAFETY TRAINING PROGRAM FOR POWER UTILITIES

OVERVIEW
Every business is responsible for safeguarding the health and safety of anyone affected by its activities, such asits employees, customers or visitors to their premises. The risks to health and safety can differ widely between sectors and individual businesses, of course. In many cases, compliance involves little more than a systematic approach to ensuring common sense precautions are taken to prevent accident and injury. However, businesses engaged in high-risk activities need to focus much more of their attention and resources on health and safety concerns. Whatever the nature of your business, putting procedures in place to avoid health and safety breaches can help reduce the risk of serious accidents and incidences.

OBJECTIVE
While efficiency and effectiveness in all our processes are of prime importance, safety remains our first priority. ENERGY AUDITING FOR POWER UTILITIES

OVERVIEW
An energy audit is an inspection survey and an analysis of energy flows for energy conservation . It may include a process or system to reduce the amount of energy input into the system without negatively affecting the output .

  • Evaluates efficiency of all process / systems that use energy
  • Starts at the utility meters , locating all energy sources coming into a facility .
  • Involves preparation of account of the energy flow to various segments of Sub - transmission and Distribution system
  • Measurement from the input level up to the end consumer level in order to ascertain the losses at different voltage levels .
  • Done to improve energy efficiency .

 OBJECTIVE
Energy Audit provides vital information base for overall energy conservation covering essentially energy utilization analysis and evaluation of energy conservation measures . This training program will enable participants in

  • Identifying the quality and cost of various energy inputs
  • Accurate Input Calculation

5 steps for risk assessment

The five steps for risk assessment are: 1. Identify the hazards . This involves identifying all of the potential hazards in the workplace. This can be done through a variety of methods, such as inspections, job hazard analyses, and employee surveys. 2. Assess the risks . Once the hazards have been identified, the next step is to assess the risks associated with each hazard. This involves considering the likelihood of the hazard occurring and the severity of the potential consequences. 3. Control the risks. Once the risks have been assessed, the next step is to develop controls to mitigate those risks. Controls can be engineering controls, administrative controls, or personal protective equipment (PPE). 4. Record your findings . The risk assessment should be documented so that it can be reviewed and updated on a regular basis. 5. Review and update your risk assessment . The risk assessment should be reviewed and updated on a regular basis to ensure that it is effective and up-to-d...
