Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to outline the company's commitment to safety and to provide guidance to employees on the expected standards of behavior in the workplace.

Safety Policy

The company is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all employees. This commitment is based on the belief that every employee has the right to work in an environment that is free from hazards and that promotes their well-being.

The company's safety policy is based on the following principles:

  • All accidents and injuries are preventable.
  • Management is responsible for providing a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Employees are responsible for their own safety and the safety of others.

Code of Conduct

All employees are expected to comply with the following code of conduct:

  • Follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Use all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Report all accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately.
  • Be respectful of others and avoid any behavior that could create a hostile or unsafe work environment.

Violations

Any employee who violates the company's safety policy or code of conduct may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Confidentiality

Conflict of interest

A conflict of interest occurs when an employee's personal interests conflict with their professional duties. For example, an employee who has a financial interest in a supplier may have a conflict of interest if they are responsible for awarding contracts to suppliers.

Action for different violence

The action taken for different types of violence will vary depending on the severity of the offense and the company's policies. For example, a company may terminate an employee for a single act of serious workplace violence, but may only suspend an employee for a first offense of alcohol or drug use.

Example

If an employee enters work drunk or under the influence of alcohol, they may be suspended for 3 days on their first offense. If they are caught drunk or under the influence of alcohol at work again, they may be terminated.
